Fellowship Hall Renovation of 2001
was made possible through a generous gift by

Gladys Douglas Hackworth

to the Glory of God
in Loving Appreciation of the People of
Historic First Presbyterian Church of Dunedin
and in Honor of the
Rev. W. Martin Hager.
Dedicated "Hager Hall" on June 24, 2001
Renovated Hager Hall

The gifts Gladys Douglas Hackworth has given to the community of Dunedin are of benefit to us all. We have a fine arts center as a result of her generosity. Gladys' contribution to the development of downtown Dunedin has set a new standard for the renovation of medium sized towns like ours. As a result of the refurbishing of the Dorothy Douglas building, the building of the Broadway Plaza and the Stanley R. Douglas Memorial Plaza, named for her deceased husband, Dunedin has come into its own.

The ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Dunedin is Gladys' latest beneficiary. Her gift of $110,000 completes the renovation of Fellowship Hall and places the renovation and restoration of the sanctuary project within our reach. It is not commonly known that Gladys was once Director of Youth here at First Presbyterian Church during the 60's. Gladys has a heart for youth and children's ministries here. Scores of our members have been enabled to go to college thanks to the Gladys Douglas Hackworth scholarships awarded every year.

At a called session meeting on May 26, the session gratefully received her gift and unanimously agreed to dedicate the hall as she requested, in honor of our pastor the Rev. Martin Hager.
